Systematiq was engaged by Downer EDI Rail to deliver systems engineering services in support of the High Capacity Metro Trains (HCMT) project including logistics support analysis, model developing and authoring related documents.

The Customer’s Challenge

This long-term contract required a systems engineer with extensive experience and the ability to co-ordinate stakeholder engagements along with delivery of technical requirements.

Solution

Systematiq consultant Siegfried (Siggy) Chaloupka filled the need by providing a range of services. These included logistics support analysis of data to inform reliability and subsequent engineering, maintenance and supply deliverables and products. He also developed models and programs to deliver reports that will inform reliability deliverables and products, and failure mode effects and critical analysis, level of repair and parts provisioning, together with Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAM) expertise.

While managing this range of systems engineering requirements, Siggy also co-ordinated and recorded stakeholder engagements including conferences, workshops and testing and validation activities, offering value across all engineering milestones of the project.

Result

The project is ongoing and Siggy continues to contribute systems engineering expertise to this project that will delivery higher-capacity trains to critical lines in greater Melbourne from mid-2019.
